Cheese Dairy La Chaux d'Abel
Our family business is situated in the tranquil Bernese Jura in the midst of an idyllic landscape and large pastures on the foot of the Franches Montagnes. We all work together in our cheese dairy and employ two cheese-maker to help us out. Our 8 suppliers provides us with about 1'000'000 litres of milk per year, a small part of which is processed to TÊTE DE MOINE and the largest amount to "Chaux-d'Abel", a semi-hard cheese made from fresh raw milk as well. This cheese is very suitable for cold and hot dishes. We make also other cheeses like Tomme cheese and the "Tatouillard", soft cheese. We also offer home-made yoghurt and butter. You are welcome to visit our cheese production site or enjoy family and group aperitifs (limited to 50 people). |
